Quick report
We skinned from the TH and made our way to the summit ridge. Gorgeous day with 4" of new snow at the car, 6" at the summer TH and 12-14" at 8800'. No collapsing on the ascent. The sun was poking in and out throughout the day, with some snow squalls that pulsed through in the afternoon, and winds were light throughout the day. We dug a couple of quick hand pits and the new snow was not slabby nor reactive, we only saw wind slabs near ridge lines. We could see around the neighboring peaks between squalls and noted zero natural activity. We skied the east bowl a few times and giggled our way down some of the deepest snow I have skied on LJ. We also brought a 40m rope and harnesses and exited via the Wilderness Gulley, which drops S from LJ's high col at 7800', and has two 20m rappels over ice falls near 5000'. Atop the line, we also dug a hand pit and ski cut the entrance (which wasn't loaded/slabby), with no results. The gulley skied great and was sun affected in places, but no sloughs or wet activity. At the very bottom coverage was a bit thin and we had to do a bit of side-stepping down rock-covered slabs.
