The main avalanche hazard today was the new storm slab. This snow was not bonding well on any of the aspects that we traveled on including southerly aspects. Red flags such as cracking where hard to miss. Observed widespread cracking alongside the road and along the ridge. Most common on N and E aspects. Cracks varied from about 10-15inches deep and anywhere from 10-50ft long

Avalanche

Remote triggered an avalanche as we where ascending the ridge. The avalanche was triggered from about 50ft away. Large collapse in the snowpack and shooting cracks all the way to the crown. Avalanche occurred on a N/NW facing slope at about 6,400ft. Visibility was not great so we did not get a close look at the crown but I would say it was on average 1ft in depth and about 50ft in width. Avalanche shown in photo
