Quick report
Our goal was to hit the North aspect and record observations as we had not yet been able to access any of that terrain. We were able to dig a pit at 11:30 AM on a true North aspect, 26 degree slope, 7000 elevation. Snowpack measured 142 cm in total with hardness measurements as follows: 142 -105 fist - 4 fingers, 105-98 4 fingers, 98-75 MFC, 75-0, 1 finger. We observed similar layering to what we saw in a pit dug on East aspect yesterday although the snow under the MFC yesterday was pencil hardness and today was measuring at 1 finger. Weather was overcast with light snow, air temp of 25 F, and calm air with a reprieve from blowing snow.
