Quick report

No signs of instability observed, but I suspect if we were on skis rather than snowmobiles we would have heard some collapses.

Snowpack

We found especially poor snowpack structure with a 1 finger hard slab on top of fist hard clustered facets. The biggest suprise was the lack of rounding occuring within the lower portion of snowpack.  Distribution of this especially weak snowpack structure is uncertain.

In the top of the snowpack, there is a layer of buried surface hoar in shaded areas. In sunny areas, this layer is a melt-freeze sun crust. No test results on either the surface hoar or the sun crust, but I will continue to monitor as the snow above consolidates into a slab.
