Quick report
We left the Bass Creek trailhead parking lot at 9am and booted up the ridge to about 5500' before we were able to put on skis. The weather was fantastic with sunny skis and light wind. Although it was relatively warm, we did not observe any signs of active rapid warming on the approach ridge. Some northerly facing slopes even contained some light, powdery snow. The top of Prez skied very well, but degraded in quality as we descended the gully encountering an increasing amount of re-frozen wet debris. The pinch around the middle was fairly icy and route finding became difficult in the bottom half with running water, runnelling, shallow snow pack, and a very large slide path. Even with how warm and sunny it was and the recent avalanche activity, we did not observe any pinwheels or roller balls and snow was supportive on the descent. Crossing Bass Creek was easy due to a number of fat snow bridges spanning the water. The single track exit had great coverage for how warm it's been (doesn't seem like the trail has had much sun yet), but skiing was rowdy on the hard, icy surface.
Avalanche
Encountered a large slide path in the bottom half of Presidential. The (glide?) avalanche appeared to have run from the large, slabby, SSE facing rock outcropping about midway down. The debris contained large microwave sized chunks of snow and dirt with pieces of mature trees snapped in half like toothpicks. We guessed that the avalanche was presumably a few days old due to surface hoar growth on the snow chunks.
