Quick report

Collapsing
widespread

Snow pack test. A ECT was completed down 125 cm/ground. ECTP occured at 17 hits. Propagation was clean on a barried layer about 2' deep. Under that week layer, approx 3", was about a foot of faceted sugar snow. We chose to dig a pit even though riding we could feel the layers. They would collapse under the bike. I wanted to actually do a test.

Avalanche

A couple small avalanches were noted on our ride up the canyon. Avalanche was in steep rocky terrain on south facing aspects. South facing aspect that slid, into a draw and tried flowing west where it gave up.
