Quick report

Since being out last week, we saw and felt plenty of evidence of wind transported snow. Surface hoar has been forming in areas sheltered from wind and direct sunlight. There is variable melt-freeze crust or generally heavier snow at the surface on solar aspects. Compared to tests last week, the snowpack seems to be stabilizing, but there is still a lurking facet layer at the ground.

HS was 144 cm on a NE facing aspect at 6775 ft; CTN We started seeing surface hoar around 6600 ft elevation in areas sheltered from wind and direct sunlight.
