Quick report

Noticeable weak layer 2 feet down. No collapsing was observed. Sunny weather, high in the low 20’s. Our group stayed below 25 degrees after observing one avalanche on a northeasterly slope.

Avalanche

One avalanche observed on a northeastern aspect in butterfield drainage at 7500 ft of evaluation. No visible ski tracks near the avalanche. Observation was from the opposite ridge so I could not get an accurate slope reading but fatmaps puts it between 35-40 degrees. Crown was roughly 30 yards wide and 3-4ft thick. Full run was roughly 100 yards.
