Blewett Pass, Diamond Head zone, "County Line" approach / ski descent

Quick report

Traveled via groomed road from Blewett Pass Sno-Park to the "County Line" approach / ski descent, then ascended to about 4,800' on diamond heads northern ridge. Returned via my path of ascent / road. From the lot, coverage is thin, with the road being the only passable surface. There is no longer any bare dirt outside the road/grooming at least and it looks more wintery but still lots of exposed stumps, logs, etc. There was about 3cm of light low density recent snow on top of a non-ski-supportable crust. All along the way up, there were lots of signs of scouring / wind effect on the surface in some places, and deeper drifts of snow in others. Above the point I stopped at about 4,800' the approach to the Diamond Head summit did not appear passable due to the amount of cross-slope downed timber and other exposed obstacles. Around where I stopped I dug down to the ground on a small, sheltered NW facing slope. HS 25cm, HST 3-5cm. New snow sits atop a complex of crusts to the ground. I did not do any tests or check snow grains. Weather started out clear, with fast moving high clouds blowing by northward with moderate S to SW winds. Gusty winds blowing right from leaving the parking lot at about 9am, and throughout. The small amounts of fresh snow was being blown around. By the time I left at about 11am, it had mostly clouded over. Precip started on the north side of Blewett pass around noon.
