Quick report

Frozen unbreakable hard pack conditions below 7,300’ skis and tracks barely making a dent. Above 7,300 a breakable crust with 4-6” of wet winter/ish snow on top of a very firm very thick layer of snow. Snowmobile tracks do not penetrate this layer and they spin on it. Challenging riding conditions. We observed two week layers while performing a shovel tilt however no other signs of instabilities were observed. Around noon at 8,000’ the breakable surface crust was still intact and not melted on all aspects. However between then and 1:30pm wet slushy snow was on the surface at lower elevations on the way back to the truck.
