Quick report
At the parking lot at 8am there was approx 2 inches of new snow. As we toured towards Andesite, we noticed increasing amounts of new snow, up to 7 inches at the deepest point. Around 12:30pm snow switched to rain with increasing winds. Wet loose activity was apparent. Pinwheeling and small wet loose on steep rolls. A handpit on a NE aspect at 7300’ showed the facets continued to persist at 1pm today, a hand shear test in the same location demonstrated a sudden release on isolation. At 2pm at 7400’ on an E aspect we had ECTX targeting the same layer.
