Quick report
Traveled up to 7600 feet. As we were traveling between 7000k to 7600k we started to feel snow density change with pole test. Weather was mostly overcast with a couple flurries in the afternoon. We did not observe signs of instability. We dug a pit at 7600 ESE. We observed the 2/8 crust with facets underneath. We also observed the Valentine’s Day crust. Our pit had no results ECTX and CTN. Despite lack of results we still had concerns about the two obvious weak layers and facets but they did appear to be morphing/ rounding. The snow was variable with pockets of powder, zipper crust, and sticky snow.
