Quick report
This is to report on new snow over the early Feb crust. Mostly west aspect on the Entiat/Chelan divide. No new snow from 3600 to 5000’. Travel was on very firm crust. Wished for whippets. From 5000’-5800’ there was increasing depth from 2” to 5” over Feb 6 crust. Breakable surface, 1” surface crust that would break into 3’ platters and skitter short distance. From 5800 to 7200, soft surface very poorly bonded to Feb 6 crust. Frustrating travel with each step loosing a 1/4 step to slipping (with ski crampons on). Was good skiing though.
