Quick report
At 9 AM, skinned out to Source Lake, then up to Great Scotts, finally up to Pineapple Pass. Above 4K ft elev, lightly falling snow turned to freezing rain/mist. Poor visibility above 4.5K elev. 500 ft below Pineapple Pass, 2 to 3 inches of soft surface snow was wind effected, and experienced a shallow hollow slab that was easily breaking into dinner plate size pieces. Skin track collapsing often. No pits dug or tests performed. Below 4K, spring-like conditions on north aspects with areas of refrozen snow. The downhill skiing was unpleasant at best. At 12 PM I skinned out to the Snow Lake Divide. Light snow, low clouds, and light winds above 4K ft elev. Dug a pit on a 45-degree north facing knoll at Snow Lake Divide around 4.5K ft elev. Dug only as deep as the EFC layer, which was 95 CM down. Performed isolated column compression test, with CTH20 clean shear at 45 CM down.
