First deeper exploration into the alpine in a while. Found minimal wind effect at ridge top near 6k. Saw 3 previous slides that possibly ripped within the last 3 days. One on the NE face of stu and another on Big Slide. Both of these looked large and to be on steep terrain. Saw a third one on a significantly less steep terrain (~35degrees) SE aspect around 5800’ on cashmere. Got one large whumph on a thin windward patch near ridge top. No other instabilities observed. Snowpack and bootpen near ridge top is thigh deep.
