Transitional Zone: Old faithful 2200ft N-aspect 31F. overcast 6/8, calm, light precip. Bottom line, a lot of wet heavy snow with easy remote triggers. Boot pen 65-70cm. Sensitive 45cm storm slab releases on convex terrain. Whumphs and shooting cracks in the alders, failing on facets 90cm down over a melt-freeze crust. Moderate strength in the mid-pack is helping to bridge or delay failures on the buried weak layers. 3-4mm depth hoar at the bottom of the 168cm snowpack, see photo.
