Explored the storm layers on small test slopes on a late afternoon Hyak Nordic trail walk. 6+ in had fallen, definite upside down snow near pass level. Coverage is improving but open creeks are still a challenge. At pass level, the storm snow slid on the well developed crust as I ascended rollovers or other steep slopes, makes uphill travel real challenging. Moving up ~1000ft, off trail I saw the storm sluff turn into a slab and propagate as I descended back to the trail.
