Traveled to 6600' on Axis peak. Started to feel the warm inversion a couple hundred feet above the lake. The lake run was heavily wind buffed and variable skiing with no avalanche reactivity. Though still cold snow in protected norths. On the NE face we didn't see any sun and it felt pretty civilized. The ice seems to be building with significant melt freeze. Below the lake was cold. Huge Surface Hoar, 1-2" and at points an entirely faceted snowpack that felt bottomless.
