Quick report
We toured five days on all aspects from the yurts. 27Feb- West face iron mountain 4900' CT22, ECTN22 (no propagation, but collapse) at early feb layer @~1.5' 01MAR- east face Esmerelda crest near start of Pipeline 6100' CT14, ECTN (no propagation, no collapse) at early feb layer @~2' North face of Esmeralda Pipeline at 5400' CT12 at the bottom of the new snow/rain interface from 2/25 ~10". No apparent crusts associated with sun/rain from the previous weeks, Just a ~3.5' well developed slab over top of weak sugar snow (can't comment on rounding). Entering this zone felt like entering a crypt, the skiing snow quality was phenomenal and well preserved, but the lack of recent slides was deeply unsettling. We observed very large avalanches on all aspects, except for this basin. Snow quality was good on east and north aspects above 5200'. I however would approach with caution given the recent fatality on these aspects and elevations. South faces were mostly rotten. I wouldn't attempt an Exit Line from iron mountain to the snowmobile pick up again, it had barely enough snow.
