Anniversary Glacier

Sunny weather in the Matier area this morning. Cold at the car (-11) and up the valley and didn’t warm up until we hit the sun at the vantage-matier col. Travel on the summer trail and through the forest below Keith’s hut is grim. Very difficult skiing at the bottom in the forest. Steep terrain off the ridges fairly wind pressed but great powder on the low angle glacier. Lots of surface hoar building at tree line. HS at 1700 is 215cm. Moderate - strong blowing wind at ridgetop on Matier.
