Mongolia and outer Mongolia skied really well today. A supportive crust with 15cms of new snow on top. The stability seemed very strong until we skied the Ron Jeremy couloir which had a size two wind slab avalanche let go about 1/3 of the way down right against the skier’s left cliff. No one was caught in the avalanche but it took a lot of the snow put of the chute. We skied out to the cross country trails and we suprised at how well the below-bowl tree skiing was. Not as many photos as I would like but our phones died quickly after the slide
Wind slab avalanche in Ron Jermey couloir. The crown was only 15 cms thick but 50 m long snd failed suddenly. The run out went far (150m) on the hard supportive crust and was about 1m at the deepest part of the avalanche debris.
