Quick Observation

Started the day early to race the sun. At the base of Montana trees and along the ridge from Kokanee average 3mm SH was visible on the surface. First thing the skinning was crusty as expected then gradually warmed up throughout the day. Northern aspects snow was shallow but soft. Saw lots of evidence of old slabs on western aspect under cliff bands. After the ridge up to ghost, we observed lots of solar on the face (one of the pictures) after group talk we decided the snow was getting to hot and was of great concern. At 12:00 @ 2200m on south aspect air temp was -0.7and T10 was -5 while we were talking we watched the T10 go from -6.4 to -5 in 20 minutes. After all this we decided to drop in of the ridge into a small west slope and the a NW slope off ghost West ridge. Snow was wind effected but fun! No surprise with the conditions if only we moved faster or could of got a early chair up RMR.

Weather

Strong solar today! This was the main concern. Light wind at ridge top
