We went for a long to ski Sapphire Col today. Valley travel in the morning was challenging on the icy skin track and it was often easier to just on untracked frozen surfaces. Once past the Mouse Trap, travel quality greatly improved.
From Sapphire Col, there was dry snow down to about 2,000m. Below that was breakable crust. Yay!
We didn't see any signs of instability other than some rock fall off the Cleaver.
The skin track softened up nicely during he day and made for a quick exit.
Lots of people were in the area today heading to Sapphire, the Dome, and Thorington.
