Quick Observation

Freeze crust was very weak in the morning at highway level and low elevations around the Summit. Isolated whumfing on low angle terrain. Creek is starting to open up. New snow from Thu-Fri overnight settled to about 5-8cm at 1500m and above. This sits on top of last week's faceted powder, which has also settled a bit. We skied the N bowl and down the NW glacier to the first bench. All signs of previous tracks had been covered. This felt like good winter conditions and skiing was amazing! Around 14h30, we could see active pin wheeling off the steep rocky S aspects. By 16h00 multiple point releases sliding off steep S and SW aspects around the NW glacier. Ski out is starting to be challenging as the snowpack was almost isothermal on flat and solar aspects below ~1200m and even NE aspects below ~1050m.
