Day two out with an AST - 1 course.
Repeated CTH 22, 26 (RP) down 80cm failing 2cm above zipper crust (.5mm)
Near end of day at approx. 15:30 lead instructor noticed a new crown off 1st Peak Evening Ridge. After observing as best we could, two skiers were spotted travelling back upslope through debris. Reported to WH2O patrol who initiated a response. Crown was approx. 200m wide, 60-180cm deep , and ran for roughly 400m. Triggered in a steep, shallow, wind affected area at ridgetop likely failing on Dec 04 MFcr which is now breaking down with facets present throughout.
