Quick tour up Hollyburn with variable conditions. Near the top was good skiing - heavy mid - crust down low. Snowpack consisted of top crust layer about 6 - 8 cm thick, depending on sun exposure over 30 - 50 cm of light dry snow. Cracking was observed around the base of many trees indicating weight loading of crust on most aspects. Small release of slab at the top of rolling steep section section, not a full on avalanche- but was concerned for steep open sections.
Easily set off small slab as a result of a ski cut over a rolling convex steep slope section - avoided this terrain.
