Attempted to ski the south face of Mount Whymper today. -23 at the car warming to -14 at 1950m. Ski quality was subpar as a 5cm stiff wind crust had developed in open areas with cross loading evident in start zones and tracks of several ski lines. After bailing on our objective, group dug two full profiles at 1995 metres. Consistent failure of recent windslab as well as some spooky results on the December 2nd layer which is consistent with the observations noted by Parks today.
