Quick Observation

Who doesn't love 30-40cm of fresh pow to play in?! Had an amazing day of riding up in Hasler today. It snowed almost all day and we stuck to tree line and below for better visibility. There were some gusty southerly winds at times which were likely moving the snow around in the alpine and loading north and east slopes even deeper. We were leery of these potential wind slabs so stayed out of those areas. We tested some steep but small lee facing slopes to see if we could get any cracking or small slides but didn't have any results. We dug a pit at around 1350m in the trees and found a series of old rain crusts down between 33 and 55cm and saw some potential for failures between the top 2 crusts (ECTP 17 down 37).
