We skied Ursus Minor SE Couloir. There was 40–50 cm of light HST in the alpine, redistributed by wind in higher elevations, with a ski penetration between 20–50 cm.
The HST was reactive to skier traffic, especially in deeper, wind-affected pockets. We triggered several small (size 1) storm slabs / wind slabs in steep terrain. Some of these slabs failed within the HST on stellars, while deeper ones failed on a thick crust.
We also got easy results on a few hand shear tests down 30-40cm cm on a thin temperature / sun crust as well as some small cracking while ascending.
Overall, the alpine offered excellent ski conditions. The exit through Ursus Trees and Connaught Creek is getting better every day.
