Tried to catch the sunrise on top of East peak. Cold morning with moderate gusts of wind more noticeable towards the alpine. Surprisingly good turns to be had where new snow wasn’t wind affected. Snow pack seems to be quite sturdy and consolidated with the exception of the new storm snow not bonding very well. Early season hazards are still present.
Dug a pit at the treeline. HS 105cm. Isolated CT resulted in RP fracture below last weeks rain crust about 25 cm down on CT 13. Another RP on CT 23 on a crust approximately 40cm down. Everything else seems to be consolidated well with an exception for the new storm snow (20cm or so). Evidence of wind affected snow starting to form wind slabs higher up in the alpine.
