We decided to keep it simple with the forecast and rode into some fairly dense trees SE of Sherpa peak, before deciding it wasn’t worth the effort and hiked back out! Hand shears around 2000m showed a weak layer of surface hoar about 20cm down getting more buried as the day went on.
Came back into resort above the trash traverse where snow was not too wind affected but again had a clear SH layer on SW aspect.
Stay safe out there! It’s looking spicy for the next little while :)
