Travel today was entirely on a rain crust, at all elevations. 5cm thick in the lower 10 Mile valley, thinner towards Western Brook Fiord. 1-5cm of new snow sitting on top, with very little wind effect so far. The crust was catchy while driving snowmobile, cold and dry snow underneath. The sun had things softening up a little by mid day onward, but it was still quite cold at elevation. We encountered “slob ice” on Ponds at lower elevations. If few small slab avalanches were noted on north facing aspects. Zoom in on second photo and try to spot one.
