1700m -5°c at 9:30am with overcast skies and lightly snowing. Temperature crust on the approach in the dense trees but supportive. 2000m and above in sheltered trees, 5-10cm of recent snow on top of a weak 2cm crust, on top of 5cm of facets on top of another very hard & supportive crust. At 2200m winds were light from the SW with Mod gusts. By 2pm it was +4°c at 1700m as the flurries stopped and the sun made an appearance. You'll be a winner if you go looking for some sheltered, north facing aspects! No natural avalanche activity observed.
Dug a pit at 2270m on an open, slightly wind affected N aspect. HS 220-250cm. CTM17 RP & ECTN17 down 15cm.
