We found 15-20 cm of snow overlying a melt-freeze crust today. In some areas right at ridge crest, a thin older wind slab could be found under the more recent unconsolidated snow. Despite cold temperatures, brief periods of sun caused surface snow to become moist on southerly aspects. Skiing on other aspects was great all day. We saw a few natural size 1 loose dry avalanches out of steep, rocky terrain that occurred today.
