Slack Country off Terminator 2, Golden, BC.

Location: Slack Country (out of bounds) off Terminator 2 at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Avalanche type: Slab avalanche, human-triggered. Involvement: 1 caught and carried ~200 ft; 1 person above the slide not involved. Observation: Whumpf was heard and propagating blocks were visible. Fracture/crown length estimated at ~150 ft. The caught skier was unable to ski out once propagation occurred. The skier was carried into trees, briefly buried, and sustained facial and rib injuries before coming to rest knee-deep in snow. The party self-extricated and proceeded to hospital in Golden, BC.
