Quick Observation

Very weak layer (about 60cm) on top which is very slidy. We heard lots of whumping sounds almost every 15 mins while skinning up. Tried to avoid steep terrain when skinning up and find a mellow terrain to ride. We triggered size 1 avy which we could easily ride away from but could be very dangerous if it happens when skinning up and you lose balance into debris. When we left on March 19th in the afternoon, it started snowing heavily so there will be tons of fresh snow on top again with weak layer underneath in the Haines Pass area and the valley near the border.
