Grey Jay Hankin Day

Today we went to Hankin. The day was cloudy and it was snowing lightly with light winds. Temperatures were below zero all the way down to the parking lot at 900m. We didn’t see any new avalanches or find evidence of any wind slab formation. There is 5 to 15 cm of new snow over firm older surfaces. North facing slopes (shady slopes) still have the best skiing and riding quality, but the treeline skiing isn’t half bad with the dust on supportive crust.
