Crevasses open on classic Glacier NP runs

Heads up to all you fun-loving glacier skiers/riders...do not follow other peoples' tracks blindly while skiing on the glaciers in Glacier National Park. With a below average snowpack, crevasses are not as well bridged as in normal years. As an example, a Parks Canada field team up the Mt Smart basin found just over 1m of snow on the glacier below Mt Smart. In some places, the winds had scoured the surface to bare glacial ice. Carry your glacier kit, know how to use it, scope your line as best you can, and please give those crevasse sags plenty of space!
