Oliver

We toured up to the north-face terrain on Oliver. Average HS above 8,000 feet was 50-75cm.  Coverage below 8K was thinner, presenting some snag and downed tree hazards. The bottom 1/3 of the snowpack above 7,400 feet consists of older snow prior to the 11/18 storm, most of which was decomposing older snow or mixed-form (faceting) snow. Facets near the base were small and moist. These facets were not reactive in our test as a significant enough slab was not present, even with 2/3 of the upper pack consisting of new snow. 

We were surprised by the remarkably similar snowpack depth to what we found previously at an upper elevation N-aspect yesterday. Though these depths were similar, structure of the upper-elevation snowpack was far poorer, likely due to conditions remaining colder up high earlier in November.
