We poked our noses into the snow in a couple locations today and found well preserved buried Surface Hoar up to 1cm in size in both locations. On a NE aspect at 7729' on a 10 degree slope with HS 117 cm, we got a CT 4 down 57 cm's (Q1) on the buried Surface Hoar. We also dug on a West aspect at 7464' on a 10 degree slope with HS 100 cm, we got an ECTP 11 down 41 cm's also on the buried Surface Hoar, leading me to believe this was the culprit of at least several of the many collapses we had throughout the day.... Widespread Collapsing and Cracking on all aspects between 7300' and 7773'.
