About 3 inches of new snow fell overnight and another 2-3” accumulated while I was in the field until 4pm. Snowfall rates picked up significantly around 3pm. Winds were stronger than expected out of the east. Despite this, we didn’t observe any active wind slab formation. We observed some loose sluffing in steep, north facing terrain. No shooting cracks or sensitive soft slab development as far as I could tell. South facing slopes below 9,500’ became damp by 2pm despite the cloud cover.

Dipped into the top of Chicken Scratch to look at the 3/21 interface on a north facing slope at 10,000’. About 12” (30cm) of 4 finger hard snow is sitting above some small facets. No crust was found here. No propagation observed at this interface (PST 110/110). Over 300 cm of snow in this location.
