- Poor Snowpack Structure
This AM I dug some hand pits down to ground in a few places on the north facing glades in the trees that run down to the water tower area. The snowpack a few weeks ago was starting to slab up on top of the deepth hoar and it was spooky. Now today I found the upper layers also starting to facet and weakening bonds through the depth of maybe 3-4 ft in places. There were still a few notable more consolidated layers marking the storms but the good news was the pack was seeming to be homogenizing even in these areas that don't get much sun.
