Snowbird Glacier

Quick report

Joined the party on the Snowbird for some early season turns. On the approach, able to get skis on at 4500ft on a solar aspect. SH present at 11:00, irradiated away by the time I exited at 1430. On the Snowbird, max snow depth was approximately 20cm. Snowpack was generally right side up, with 10cms of low density on a supportable crust skiing well. Evidence of mild wind transport from the southern half of the compass throughout the afternoon. Evidence of a few solar input initiated loose avalanches from the day prior. Witnessed a skier triggered dry loose in steep polar terrain at approximately 5600ft (L-ASu-R1-D1-I). Excellent riding for early season!
