Quick report
Went for a tour to assess new snow and get some exercise. It was exciting to see new snow on the road. With low visibility we decided to start at Skeetawk and hike up towards 4068. I agree completely with the Forecaster's observation today, the new snow felt more like 2-4 inches on the ground ;). From the Skeetawk parking lot up there was a drizzle/zipper crust. Unfortunately, this crust grew in consistency and thickness up to our high point of 2700 feet. The thickening crust capped our motivation to climb higher and investigate how far the crust went up. The zipper crust led to great skin track weather theory conversations. Snow was falling as we packed up (S1) . Support your local avalanche center!
