Quick report

We received 1-2" of snow during the day with moderate SW winds and rain at lower elevations. The Lionhead area has received significantly less snow than other advisory areas, yet the little bit of snow it got was enough to increase the instability.

Wind transporting snow.

Snowpack

HS 40cm-60cm, multiple ECT’s performed ranging in results from ECTP2 to ECTP11. In shaded aspects at near the mid elevation band old snow persisted into a crust of around 4inches thick of knife hardness. Above that was a layer of facets underneath the four finger plus slap of around 1 foot deep. Lower elevations and south facing aspects melted out before recent snowfall.
