Quick report
Pepper and I went for a nice powder ski near WMR. The fun zone today was 5500-6500, where we found ample dry wintery powder on crust that blasted us for hours straight. Above 6500, there was wind effect. It hadn’t slabbed up yet but you could see sand dunes forming. The morning wind was out of the West but it later transitioned to a more gentle N facing wind that was actually pretty cold. We made our way over to some steep E facing lines where the wind had deposited knee deep powder. Nice! The snow however was very reactive. Pretty much every turn on a slope over 35 degrees initiated a dry loose slide. Very manageable, but enough to make me take it a little easier than I anticipated given the surprisingly deep snow. Low vis, so couldn’t see around us. Saw some very small dry loose in a rocky area.
