Quick report
We skinned out to Ghoulie Point and skiied down to the beaver pond. Dug a snow pit at Ghoulie on a northeast aspect. There were weak layers present at approx 14" and 30". The first was due to warmth and sun damage. The lower one had hoar involved, and snow beneath was very sugary. All layers were very solid and packed. ECT had no failures. Snow was fairly heavy and difficult to make turns in. Snow under trees had been affected my melt and refreezing. Very crunchy surface. Surface snow across the basin had warmth/sun damage and surface hoar on shaded aspects. It was apparent we were the only skiers in that basin in at last a week.
