Quick report
Toured up maid of the mist yesterday. In the cliffs section(around 8000’), I found the new snow to be breaking cleanly on the old facets. 12-16” deep, only breaking to skier weight right next to unsupported rollovers, isolated at best. In the basin, saw a D1.5-D2 that looked to be cornice fall triggered, east facing. Hard to tell depth from a distance but I’m guessing around 2 ft deep? Attached is a photo. Plumes of snow were being transported off the ridge the entire time we were up there, and gusts into the 50’s were present down in the basin as well. Ski quality was excellent except SE-S aspects that saw sun had a fresh 1cm, 1F sun crust. Didn’t ski anything above the bottom of the Arden peak slidepath.
