Quick report
Had a good day on the W Face of Hayden Peak today. Snow surface was hard until at least 1:00. A quick shovel pop revealed the same structure I’ve see recently: lots of sugar with a slab sitting on top.
While things felt very solid, there were several lines of debris evidencing natural wet slides peeling off steeper terrain where the snowpack was shallow. There is plenty of safe strep skiing to be had right now but the key is, once again: get in and get out.

-
This is only a problem if you overstay your welcome. Even at 1:00 things were still scratchy and locked up.
