Shadow

Ascended Shadow for other objectives but bailed on multiple options due to miserable wind and breakable wind slab/crust conditions. Luckily, the sheltered trees were a lovely consolation prize and the walk was very pleasant until reaching upper elevations where winds hit.  4-6 inch slabs found on both the north and south halves of the compass and reactive on both, albeit small in size. Larger fetches and well-connected slopes hold the capability of producing a larger avalanche.  Shady aspects in sheltered trees are skiing well still. Noted a variety of NSFs at low and middle elevations; at upper elevations, the wind has dispersed them, but they may likely hang out on aprons/select areas in these locations.  The snow surface is currently getting worked by dry conditions and will craft the next PWL layer upon the next significant snowfall. Noted one small natural release on 10,696.
